Chapter 22,23,24,25,26 Telling People That He Got Kicked Out

For the five last chapters in the book. I'm going to discuss about Holden telling people that he got kicked out of Pencey. I'm also going to say who he told that he was kicked out of Pencey.
           In chapter 22, Holden tells Phoebe that he got kicked out of Pencey and she was really mad at him and was afraid that their dad would kill him. "Daddy'll kill you" (166) is what Phoebe told Holden. "'Oh, why did you do it?' She meant why did I get the ax again" (167). His answer was "A million reasons why" (167) He did list some reasons but this was his main answer to her question.
          In chapter 23, Holden then tells Mr. Antolini that he was kicked out. Mr. Antolini was very shock! "Good God" (174) was what Mr. Antolini said after Holden told him that he was kicked out of Pencey. Holden said, "He told me to come right over if I felt like it" (174). So toward the end of that chapter he did proceeded to go over to Mr. Antolini's house.
        In chapter 24, Holden told Mr. Antolini that he flunked out of Pencey and discussed why he did. Mr. Antolini asked Holden "What was the trouble?" (182). So Holden tells him every thing and it goes on and on threw out the whole chapter.
       In chapter 25, Holden decides to "never go home again and I'd never go away to another school again" (198). He then plans to say good bye to Phoebe by writing her a letter and so forth.
      In chapter 26, Holden is "sorry I told so many people about it" (214). Then he starts missing everyone and then the book ends.
     So on my personal opinon, the ending of the book sucked. The last chapter for crying out loud was one page long. But I do find this quite interesting in the last chapter, "I'm sorry I told so many people about it. About all I know is, I sort of miss everybody I told about. Even old Stradlater and Ackley, for instance. I think I even miss that goddam Maurice.It's funny. Don't ever tell anybody anything. If you do, you start missing everybody" (214) and by that I feel like Holden is just crashing.

Chapters 18,19,20,21 The drunk times of Holden

In these 4 chapters I am going to discus about Holden being drunk. In the 4 chapters it did not just rapidly start talking about Holden being drunk. In chapter 18, it leads up to Holden being bored and not having much to do. So he calls up Jane, "but her phone didn't answer" (136). So he called Carl Luce which used to go to Whooton School but he graduated. Holden and Luce both made plans to go to the "Wicker Bar, on 54th" (137) at 10 o'clock and that's how it led up to Holden becoming drunk. In chapter 19 Holden is at the bar and is with Luce. Holden and Luce began to talk about sex and are drinking together. Luce "ordered a dry Martini". At the end of chapter 19 Holden tells Luce "Have just one more drink"(149) then Luce left. In chapter 20, Holden "kept sitting there getting drunk"(149). After a while of drinking he explains to us on how he acts when he becomes drunk which i find it pretty funny. "When  I was really drunk, I started that stupid business with the bullet in their guts" (150). He also says "I was the only guy at the bar with a bullet in their guts"(150). He then calls Sally and he was super drunk. Sally could tell he was drunk so she told him to go home and get to bed. In chapter 21, He goes and see's Phoebe and I personally feel like he was kind of mean to her. This is a good example of how I feel like that "'Wait a second, willya?' I said. 'I'm asking you a question" (163). The reason why I felt like that was kinda mean was because she was just super excited to see him and there are ways to ask her a question with out being so rude or mean.
